Sean Dyche has challenged Everton’s squad to embrace the framework he is putting together that will enable them to beat their relegation fight.
Everton face a crucial fixture against Brentford on Saturday with supporters planning more protests against the board of directors.
It has been a season of huge turbulence but Dyche believes his players are focused enough to not be distracted.
He wants his group to build on a powerful display at Nottingham Forest last Sunday, which should have earned more than a 2-2 draw, and Dyche saw signs that, after a demanding five weeks, his methods are starting to reap rewards.
‘That’s the big thing for me, the mentality,’ said Dyche.

‘Finding that mentality as a group of people, all noses pointing in the right direction, all willing to put everything we can into winning games. That is the starting point.
‘Then that starts building but it has got to start somewhere.
That is what we are looking to do now, start that mentality. And, of course, you have got to understand all of the tactical and the technical stuff is a given.
‘But the mentality, the underbelly, the mentality that says we will stop at nothing to be relentless to go and win games.
That is a good mentality to have. It’s led by me and the staff but we want buy in from the players.’
