Sheikh Jassim ‘sends furious letter to Glazers’ as Qatari hints at project
Jim Ratcliffe's potential Man Utd investment assessed | Football Digest
Manchester United bidder Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani has aimed fire at the Glazer family with a furious letter after his pursuit of a full sale was unsuccessful, according to reports. The Qatari royal failed in his bid to buy 100 per cent of United, with the Glazers opting for a minority investment.
Last Saturday, Sheikh Jassim dramatically withdrew from the takeover process, having seen a £5billion offer rejected before further talks this month broke down.
Sheikh Jassim pledged a cash offer through the newly formed Nine Two Foundation, which would’ve cleared all the club’s old debt.
March figures showed United owed £969.6m in gross debt, bank borrowings and outstanding transfer fees with associated payments.
Sheikh Jassim also vowed to inject more than £1.4bn into the club for stadium and training ground redevelopment, Erik ten Hag’s squad and community regeneration projects.
Therefore, the Glazers’ refusal to accept his proposal has left millions of United supporters dismayed, having built up hope throughout the 11-month strategic review.

But not many are as furious as Sheikh Jassim, who has reportedly aired his disapproval directly at the Glazers after walking away from the negotiation table.
According to Sports Zone, Sheikh Jassim has sent a letter to the Glazers ahead of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s £1.4bn deal to secure a 25 per cent stake in United.
He is said to have accused the United States-based family of never wanting to sell the club and using him to increase its £2.6bn market value to offload minority shares at a high price.
Sheikh Jassim is now allegedly working on other projects amid murmurs suggesting Qatar remain interested in investing in a Premier League club.

United fans have increasingly protested against the Glazer family over the 18 years since they completed a controversial takeover in 2005.
The fact that the Glazers bought United for £790m but are now unwilling to walk away with more than five times the price has intensified supporters’ disdain toward them.
Red Devils co-chairmen Joel and Avram Glazer were said to be reluctant to relinquish control at Old Trafford, while their four siblings were ready to cash in.
But Sir Jim will hope to complete a phased takeover once his foot is in the door, gradually removing Glazer influence from the club as part of his new passion project.
