Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted he was not pleased with the performance against Brighton despite being happy to get the three points.
United won 3-2 on the south coast thanks to a 100th minute penalty from Bruno Fernandes which came just moments after the hosts had equalised.
It was not the free-flowing football that the Red Devils showed at the end of last season, though it did give Solskjaer his first three points of the new Premier League season.
And while the Norwegian was pleased to get the points on the board, he wasn’t impressed with the showing from his side.
Solskjaer told BBC Sport: "It's just the ups and downs in football, sometimes it defies logic and I've never seen a game end like that before.
“Don't ask me about the ending, I don't think anyone knows the rules now! The handball was before the final whistle and it was a handball.
"I am very pleased with the reaction of our players, it was easy to lie down and take a 2-2 draw.

"We need to start games better, we were way off, and we were way off last week too. We are catching up.
"My happiness is 10/10 today because of the three points but the performance doesn't get anywhere near a 10 – we all know that."
Match-winner Fernandes acknowledged that the Red Devils got the rub of the green at the Amex.

He said: “Sometimes you have to have some luck, you have to have some defenders defending well and a keeper also.
“David [de Gea] did really well today also all the defence. Okay, on the goals we need to do much better, I think everyone agrees and we will work on that.
“Of course, sometimes you have to have some balls to take a penalty like this, you know? I know everyone trusts in me, I know everyone was expecting me to score.”
