After years of scouting Manchester United completed the transfer deadline day signing of Amad Diallo from Atalanta.
The 18-year-old won't arrive at United until January, spending the first half of the season with Atalanta.
Despite the winger featuring just three times for Atalanta's senior side, United shelled out €19million (£17.2m) for his services with a further €21m (£19m) to come in add ons.
And that's not all, according to Fabrizio Romano on his Here We Go podcast, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer even sat down with the teenager in a FaceTime call to convince the winger to join.
The United boss is said to have told Diallo he is highly rated by the club and will become an important part of their future plans.
Solskjaer is also claimed to have told Diallo he has no plans to send him out on loan.
It's a lot of fuss for an 18-year-old who has barely graced the first time but team-mate Papu Gomez has boldy compared the winger to Lionel Messi.
"He’s a future star, trust me," the Atalanta forward said. "During our training sessions he plays like Messi! You can’t stop him, he’s unbelievable, our centre-backs have serious problems when he is on the pitch. He’s fantastic."
And although that assessment is a little strong, the Manchester Evening News did confirm that, like teams do with Messi, City coaches focused the entirety of the gameplan in the reverse fixture on stopping Diallo.
When City's youth team played Atalanta last season Diallo blew his opposition coaches away.
Diallo scored in the first game before helping the Italian outfit to another win in the second.
