Southampton qualified for the fourth round of the FA Cup on Tuesday night when they faced Shrewsbury at St. Marys. Dan N’Lundulu opened the scoring in the 16th minute to part the Saints in control and James Ward-Prowse put the icing on the cake with a second in the 89th minute.
Arsenal also progressed through the third round with a 2-0 win. This victory coming against Newcastle who made it difficult for the Gunners especially in the first half. The match went to extra-time and looked certain to go to penalties but Emile Smith-Rowe, who had a red card overturned on VAR, found a touch of space in the box and broke the deadlock in the 109th minute. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put the result beyond doubt eight minutes later and Arsenal were through.
