Spurs fans beg for Bastoni to sign after doing ‘not normal things’ for assist
Tottenham fans are desperate to sign Alessandro Bastoni after the defender's superb assist for Inter Milan in the Champions League.
Spurs have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old, who played a key role in Inter's Serie A title success under current Tottenham boss Antonio Conte in 2020. Bastoni showed exactly why he is coveted by a host of clubs, not just Spurs, during Inter's 4-0 demolition of Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League on Wednesday.
While he may be a centre-half by trade, Bastoni displayed serious attacking qualities to set up Inter's first goal of the evening at the San Siro.

With 34 minutes gone, Bastoni exchanged passes with Federico Dimarco on the left hand side before galloping forward towards the touchline. He then beat his man and sent in a superb ball to the back post, which was headed home by Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The goal gave Inter the lead at the San Siro, but Tottenham fans were more interested in the impressive assist from Bastoni. One fan wrote: "Bastoni is nuts no wonder Conte was on his knees for Patrici to sign him."
Someone else said: "Bastoni is brilliant going forward so far." A third person added: "This Alessandro Bastoni masterclass… One day we'll be together my love."
A fourth user commented: "Screw Skriniar I’d take Bastoni instead." While another Tottenham fan chimed in with: "Alessandro Bastoni. That’s not normal even for an elite centre-back."
Bastoni has excelled for Inter Milan since he made his breakthrough in 2017. Signed from Atalanta, he has now made 131 appearances for the Italian giants, scoring three goals and providing 11 assists.
According to Inter Live, Tottenham have shown interest in Bastoni and could make a £43million offer for the star during the January transfer window.
Transfer insider Dean Jones previously claimed that he would be a "dream signing” for Conte and chief Fabio Paratici. However, Spurs face competition for his signing, with Manchester City and Manchester United reportedly both interested in his services.
