Thomas Tuchel’s treatment of Tammy Abraham was slammed by some fans after the Chelsea striker was left out for the Champions League final.

Chelsea were crowned kings of Europe after Kai Havertz scored the only goal against Manchester City in Saturday's all-English final in Porto.

It was a triumphant night for Tuchel, who guided his side to the biggest prize in club football just four months after taking the hotseat from sacked Frank Lampard.

But the manager continued to snub Abraham, with Chelsea's joint top-scorer left out of the squad – although Abraham still celebrated in full kit with his team-mates after the victory as he channelled his inner John Terry.

The 23-year-old has scored 12 goals in all competitions this season – despite having made just seven appearances since Tuchel took charge.

He helped Chelsea qualify from the Champions League group stage, but did not feature in any of the knockout games and was also left out for the last four Premier League matches of the season.

And after some fans weren't happy after Abraham was again given the cold shoulder – even if Chelsea did go on to glory.

After the line-ups emerged, fans were quick to point out on Twitter that Tuchel had back-up keepers Kepa Arrizabalaga and Willy Cabellero on the bench ahead of Abraham, as well as two left-backs in Marcos Alonso and Emerson.

One fan tweeted: "Tuchel has 2 Goalkeepers and 2 Left Backs on the Bench but no Tammy Abraham."

Abraham has been linked with a move away this summer, and one supporter said Tuchel's treatemt of him was "baffling" and would cause his transfer value to plummet.

"Thomas Tuchel has done a fantastic job in his first season in London, but his treatment of Tammy Abraham has been absolutely baffling," the fan tweeted. "Putting two goalkeepers on the bench and not your joint-top scorer is downright baffling and will tank his value."

After Saturday's game, Abraham shared a picture of himself with the European Cup, posting on Instagram: "From south east london. To the champions league. #DreamBig "

And he got a lot of love from Chelsea fans, with one describing him as an "unsung hero" of the Champions League triumph, while another posted: "You deserve it Tammy. I understand it's been a tough season for you but no matter what happens from here on out, know that Chelsea supporters will always be with you.

"You're one of our own and we'll never forget that. Enjoy your summer!"

And one Liverpool fan urged him to join Jurgen Klopp's side, tweeting: "Now come to Liverpool and you'll win another one. Tuchel isn't respecting you enough."
