Tottenham and Torino at loggerheads over £50m- rated Andrea Belotti transfer conditions

Tottenham are keen on signing Torino striker Andrea Belotti on loan to provide competition behind Harry Kane. But could be forced to fork out nearly £50million if they are to sign the prolific Italian.

Jose Mourinho has placed a back-up to Kane high on his wishlist in this window, with his injury last term highlighting a severe lack of depth within the squad.

Belotti has been linked with a Premier League switch extensively in recent seasons, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United all credited with an interest.

The 26-year-old has enjouted a stunning five year spell in Turin, netting 122 goals in 297 competitive appearances.

Torino enjoyed a miserable campaign last year, finishing 16th in Serie A, but that did little to stunt Belotti’s indiviual feats, registering another 16 in the league.

It is understood that Spurs have made approach for Belotti, although Torino are adamant they will only sanction a permanent move for their most prized asset.

Spurs boss Mourinho understands the importance of finding an able deputy for Kane after watching their season stall when the England skipper was on the sidelines last year.

Mourinho has claimed he will only sign a forward who isn’t afraid to fight for his place within the squad.

“So it’s not for me to convince him, it’s for him to convince me. If he says, ‘I don’t want to go because I don’t want to be in a squad where we have Harry Kane and Sonny, Lamela, Lucas, I don’t want to go to that squad’, then goodbye.

“You look to all the other top clubs and they have many options as centre-forwards and that question doesn’t appear.
