The summer transfer window is set to open next week as the Premier League powerhouse clubs look to seize the opportunity to bolster their squads ahead of the 2023/24 campaign. And the clubs who can find an edge over the coming weeks and spend wisely could well be rewarded on the pitch.

Success-hungry Manchester United look primed to spend heavily once the window opens and are reportedly preparing a big for Chelsea playmaker Mason Mount, who has just one more year remaining on his contract in west London after refusing to put pen-to-paper on a new deal.

Chelsea, meanwhile, could get their hands on highly-rated Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo if they ae willing to sanction a swap deal, with defender Levi Colwill included as part of the package.

Arsenal will be looking to go one step further next season after narrowly missing out on landing their first Premier League title since 2004 last time around. The Gunners, who finished second to Manchester City, have been tipped to snap up West Ham ace Declan Rice. And the England midfielder dropped a hint that he could be willing to move to the Emirates Stadium after on Wednesday night after helping the Hammers lift the Europa Conference League trophy.

Elsewhere, Liverpool have snapped up Brighton attacker Alexis Mac Allister this week, while Tottenham are said to be eyeing Leicester duo James Maddison and Harvey Barnes. And Manchester City chiefs will also be working away in the background to recruit new stars ahead of their Champions League final against Inter Milan on Saturday.

The top teams across Europe will also be in the market for talent, as will David Beckham’s Inter Miami and the mega-wealthy Saudi Arabian clubs.

Man Utd ‘preparing opening bid’ for Mount

Manchester United are preparing their opening bid for Chelsea ace Mason Mount, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano. The 24-year-old playmaker has just one more year remaining on his deal at Stamford Bridge but has refused to pen fresh terms.

The Red Devils are remaining calm about the deal as Mount is keen to move to Old Trafford. But the main issue for them is Chelsea’s position on the price tag, with the Blues previously being reported to be holding out for no less than £70million.
