Transfer rumour rater: Ozil ‘agrees move’, Caicedo to join Man Utd

The January transfer window is well truly open and moves are being made.

Arsenal are set to make their first signing with teenage defender Omar Rekik joining from Hertha Berlin, while Mesut Ozil appears to be edging ever closer to the exit door.

Chelsea are expected to offload players as they continue to be linked with West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, Liverpool need a centre-half but also face a battle to keep Gini Wijnaldum from leaving at the end of his contract.

Manchester United are another team who could do signing an experienced defender – but look set to continue building for the future by signing talented young players.

Ozil 'agrees deal' with Fenerbahce

Mesut Ozil has agreed a deal to join Fenerbahce in the January window, according to Turkish outlet NTVSpo .

Ozil has been also been linked with Juventus and DC United in recent days – despite having insisted he plans to see out his Arsenal contract, which ends next summer.

The midfielder's agent Dr Erkut Sogut has admitted that he and his client have begun to look at a move away from the club.

"We were not allowed to talk legally before January 1 so now we are just starting to look at the options with the numbers and details," Sogut told ESPN on Wednesday.

Moises Caicedo to join Man Utd

Ecuador international Moises Caicedo is being heavily tipped to join Manchester United from Independiente del Valle this month.

The 19-year-old has starred for his country in their World Cup qualifiers, registering three assists and a goal to help Ecuador win three of the four games he has played in so far.

Box-to-box midfielder Caicedo has spoken of his admiration for Chelsea ace N'Golo Kante and Manchester United's Paul Pogba – and could soon become a team-mate of the latter.

Daily Star says: 8/10 – Caicedo fits in with United's strategy of recruiting talented youngsters who can grow with the club.

Wijnaldum set for Barcelona switch

 

Gini Wijnaldum continues to be linked with a move to Barcelona if Liverpool fail to convince him to sign a new contract.

According to Sky Sports, the midfielder believes his wages should compare more favourably with the club's top earners.

The Dutch ace is believed to earn £75,000 per week, while the likes of Thiago, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah pocket twice that.

And Wijnaldum's former Holland boss Ronald Koeman is reportedly ready to pounce if a deal can't be agreed.

Daily Star says: 5/10 – Wijnaldum wants to stay, and Liverpool want to keep him. A deal will surely be agreed eventually.

Salah is Real Madrid's top target

Real Madrid have made Mohamed Salah their top transfer target for next summer's transfer window, according to  talkSPORT.

The report comes amid speculation that Salah is unhappy at Anfield and will look to leave at the end of the season.

With Salah's form having dipped of late, It has been claimed that the Reds could offload Salah, whose form has dipped of late, in order to fund a move for Jadon Sancho.

Daily Star says: 4/10 – Salah may not have scored for three games, but he still leads the Premier League scoring charts with 13, and Liverpool won't want to lose him.
