Trent Alexander-Arnold reacts to Mo Salah’s new contract on Silverstone track

Trent Alexander-Arnold gave his reaction to Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah's new contract ahead of the British Grand Prix.

The Reds right-back was at Silverstone to take in the Formula One action on Sunday (July 3) afternoon, where he featured in the latest edition of Martin Brundle's iconic grid walks. He was asked if he was happy about this week's news of Salah extending his Anfield stay until 2025.

"Course yeah, of course. Hopefully a few more years with him to win more trophies," replied Alexander-Arnold, who was a guest of Red Bull Racing at his first ever F1 race.

Speaking about swapping sports for the day, he said: "First time and hopefully the first of many though. I absolutely love F1 and it's so exciting to be here.

"It doesn't really allow me with my schedule, but I'm really happy to be here today. The excitement I think is my favourite bit.

"The fact that it's both a team sport and an individual sport at the same time is exciting to me. It's an amazing sport, I grew up watching it with my dad and my family."

Brundle also asked Alexander-Arnold about his own car collection. "Not as nice as these," the England star joked. "These machines are something very special. A lot of hard work and a lot behind the scenes that I've seen today. A lot goes into it."

Earlier in the day he had swapped a Liverpool shirt for a Red Bull polo with reigning world champion Max Verstappen and explored the team's garage with his defensive partner Virgil van Dijk.

Van Dijk's fellow Dutchman and Manchester City centre-back Nathan Ake was also invited to the track by Red Bull, with a plethora of famous faces soaking up the action.

Alexander-Arnold and Van Dijk will soon be linking up with Salah again as Liverpool's pre-season gets underway, with all three committed to Jurgen Klopp's side after the Reds tied down their star man.
