Tyson Fury planning to buy Morecambe FC and ‘throw millions’ at keeping them up

World heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury says he's planning to buy League One side Morecambe Town.

During an appearance on talkSPORT on Thursday, the Gypsy King claimed he has plans to invest "millions" into the club and lead them up the football league.

"I'm thinking about buying Morecambe football club," Fury told surprised hosts Jim White and Simon Jordan. "So I was thinking that I invest X amount of millions in them, basically throw it at them, and keep them up. And keep them going up."

White then posed the question, "so you're serious, you want to buy Morecombe Town football club?"

"I've been [the chance] to buy Morecombe football club," a nodding Fury replied. "I own all the training facilities anyway and the training gym, so you know, who knows?"

The 34-year-old then leaned over to former Crystal Palace chairman Jordan and said he'd be calling on him for advice, insisting: "I know that he's had a lot of experience so I'm going to be calling him for the tips."
