Photos of Wayne Rooney sleeping after a night out which have gone viral on social media are believed to be the subject of a police investigation.
The Derby boss is said to have partied into the early hours of the morning after their pre-season friendly outing against AFC Barrow.
In pictures that have been circulating online, he can first be seen chatting to a mystery girl in the exclusive Chinawhite nightclub before heading back to what appears to have been a hotel.
The girl even posed next to Rooney in her underwear while he was asleep, captioning the photo: "Mooney Rooney".
Greater Manchester Police are believed to be investigating the incident, in which Rooney may have been the victim of a set up.
He is understood to have fallen asleep and was unaware of the snaps being taken without his consent.
The Manchester United legend has not been accused of behaving inappropriately and a friend of the girls told The Sun there was no sexual contact.
The images and videos have gone viral online after being shared amongst fan groups on WhatsApp, with one of them being viewed over 175,000 times.
Rooney has been in a relationship with childhood sweetheart Coleen for almost two decades.
His representatives have been approached by Daily Star Sport for comment.
Rooney has spent the last eight months in charge of Derby after initially joining the club as a player-coach.
He was handed the full-time job two months after arriving at Pride Park, steering the Rams clear of relegation to League One with a dramatic 3-3 draw on the final day of the previous Championship season.

Rooney's men have two more pre-season friendlies to get through before they get the 2021/22 campaign underway against Huddersfield on August 7.
They are set to take on Spanish outfit Real Betis on July 28, before locking horns with Notts County four days later.
