West Ham are determined to keep hold of Lucas Paqueta after Manchester City launched a £70million bid for the Brazil international.

Paqueta emerged as a key player for the Hammers last season as David Moyes led the club to European Conference League glory.

And the South American has emerged as a shock name on Pep Guardiola’s wanted list this summer and he looks to build on last season’s historic Treble success.

City are actively trying to sign Paqueta ahead of the transfer deadline and pushing to complete a deal.

However, City face a major obstacle in trying to persuade Hammers chairman David Sullivan to sell the 25-year-old attacking midfielder.
