West Ham fans think Rice ‘forgets he plays for Arsenal’ in Sky Sports interview

Football fans think they have picked up on the moment Declan Rice forgot he's playing for Arsenal as he spoke to Sky Sports on Monday.

Rice was part of the Gunners side who dug deep to claim the three points against Crystal Palace. However, after the game, fans joked Rice had forgotten he doesn't play for West Ham anymore.

Speaking to Monday Night Football, Rice said: "I think even here, West Ham, the lads are always on at me to shoot more." And fans were quick to share the clip on social media.

"Rice forgets he plays for Arsenal," one fan joked with a laughing emoji. While a second added: "West Ham through and through!"

"You can take the lad out of West Ham," a third joked. And another added: "No way! Rice already regrets his decision to move to Arsenal! Lol!"

However, not all was as it seemed, as some Arsenal fans hit back on social media – claiming that Rice had said "and" before West Ham. One fan said: "He says 'here 'n' at West Ham'…"

Rice was part of one of the transfer sagas of the summer, when he finally upped sticks from east London to join the Gunners for over £100million.

The Englishman has since been part of the side that beat Manchester City in the Community Shield – and he's helped the Gunners maintain their perfect start to the new season, with two wins from two games.

Rice added: "I take it every day as it comes. I keep trying to listen, trying to focus, building relationships with my teammates on the pitch, and obviously doing what the manager wants of me. I think if I stick to those plans I’ll be just fine in an Arsenal shirt.”
