Liverpool: Klopp admits clubs want ‘crazy money’ for defender
Liverpool have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Winston Reid from West Ham, following their enquiry for Issa Diop. The Reds are exploring several short-term options before tomorrow night’s deadline, as they look to bring in defensive reinforcements to bolster their options at the back.
Initially, the Premier League champions were prepared to wait until the summer to sign a centre-back.
Fabinho has been playing as an auxiliary defender as a temporary solution but the Brazilian has now picked up a muscle injury.
Joel Matip has also suffered suspected ankle ligament damage meaning Liverpool are now down to bare bones at the back.
Jordan Henderson will slot in for now alongside Nat Phillips but Liverpool want somebody signed before the 11pm deadline tomorrow night.

Liverpool have reportedly lodged an enquiry with the representatives of Hammers defender Issa Diop to sound out his availability.
West Ham would only consider sanctioning his exit if a £20million obligation to buy was included.
According to the Daily Star, West Ham have since tabled a new proposal to Liverpool ahead of this afternoon’s Premier League meeting.
The report claims they’ve offered forgotten man Winston Reid to the Reds.

He has returned to east London following a loan spell in the MLS with Sporting Kansas City.
Reid was a former favourite for the Hammers but has not featured since March 2018, when he suffered a serious knee injury and was also knocked unconscious against Swansea.
The defender is now keen to put his two-year injury hell behind him though for the final chapter of his career.
His contract does not expire until 2023 though, after he signed a staggering six-year contract in 2017.
It’s unclear whether Liverpool would be interested in his services for the rest of the season.
The Reds are exploring a host of different options including New York Red Bulls’ Aaron Long and Shkodran Mustafi.
Klopp has reiterated that the finances of any deal would need to add up for the Reds though.
Mustafi currently earns £90,000-per-week at Arsenal and although the Gunners want to offload him, he would have to significantly drop his wage demands to earn a move to Anfield.
