Xavi implements 10 strict rules at Barcelona – like Frank Lampard did at Chelsea

Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez has followed in the footsteps of former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard when it comes to laying down the law as head coach.

The Barcelona legend took over the helm at the Camp Nou last week following a two-year spell in charge of Qatari based side Al Sadd.

And it hasn’t taken the former midfield maestro long to stamp his authority at the club, after establishing ten new rules for playing staff to follow.

Spanish outlet AS claims the 41-year-old imposed the new measures days after he had taken charge, in a desperate attempt to turn the club’s fortunes around.

Barcelona are currently ninth in La Liga after drawing 3-3 with Celta Vigo on Saturday, despite leading 3-0 at half-time.

The Catalan giants are already 11 points behind league leaders Real Sociedad, and ten behind rivals Real Madrid.

Xavi’s new rules are similar to those imposed by Lampard during his recent tenure at Chelsea.

The former England midfielder had several rules which carried hefty fines to those who broke them.
