Novak Djokovic heads into the ATP Finals as one of the favourites having clinched the Paris Masters title just one week ago.
The Serbian is also locked in a heated battle with Rafael Nadal for the year-end world No 1.
But Matteo Berrettini will be looking to stamp his mark on his ATP Finals debut.
The Italian’s strong forehand and thunderous serve earned him the eighth place in the season finale.
And the 23-year-old is hoping to pull off an upset at London’s O2 Arena.
“I’ve never played him, so it’s going to be all new: the atmosphere, the finals, him,” Berrettini said.
“It’s going to be a huge, huge experience, a huge moment for me for my career. But like I did the previous years, I’m really looking forward to learn something, [I am going] to put a lot of effort [like I did] to put myself in this situation.
“For sure I’m stepping on the court thinking about beating him, but we’ll see what’s going to happen.”
