Tennis star Alex de Minaur has withdrawn from the Tokyo Olympics after testing positive to COVID-19.
The Australian Olympic Commission chef de mission Ian Chesterman confirmed the news on Friday morning.

“We have been advised that Alex de Minaur has had a positive test, as a consequence, Alex, sadly will be unable to join the Australian team,” Chesterman said.
“He’s said he’s shattered.”
Team doctor David Hughes said the 22-year-old tested negative on July 5 after leaving the Wimbledon bubble before flying to Spain. He later tested positive on Saturday.
