Conor McGregor has Khabib Nurmagomedov fight hopes dashed

Conor McGregor has had his hopes of an immediate rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov further dashed as the Russian’s manager has claimed he’s not worthy of a title shot.

Ali Abdelaziz told ESPN: “To be honest, Conor is going to have to go out there and fight somebody like Justin Gaethje, Tony Ferguson or ‘Cowboy’[Donald Cerrone].

“He’s not a worthy enough opponent right now. That’s the feeling from all of us, as a team.”

Conor McGregor update from Dana White

UFC president Dana White has revealed he expects ‘The Notorious’ to return to the Octagon in the summer.

“[McGregor] and I are getting together very soon, within the next week, and we’re going to figure out what’s next for him,” White said during an appearance on The Jim Rome Show. “I see him fighting this summer.

“The Cerrone fight makes sense. There’s a couple different options out there for him. He was talking about the Cerrone fight at one point. I don’t really know but that fight makes sense.”
