Justin Bieber gives Conor McGregor prediction for Poirier straight to his face

Justin Bieber gave his prediction for a potential rematch between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier as 'The Notorious' looked on.

McGregor's trilogy rematch against Poirier back in July came to a premature end when the former two-weight UFC champion suffered a devastating leg break.

Many feel the Irishman will target a fourth bout against his rival as he looks to level up their record, with Poirier having won two of their clashes to McGregor's one.

McGregor super-fan Bieber reckons his hero will beat Poirier – and he told him so at the VMAs.

As he gave an acceptance speech at the MTV awards ceremony in Brooklyn, the pop megastar turned to nearby McGregor and said: "We're gonna get 'em next time.

"New York is back and so is the Mac. 2022 will be our greatest year yet.

"Conor, we're gonna get 'em next time, my boy. Let's go."

While Bieber didn't mention Poirier by name, it wasn't hard to infer who he was talking about when he said "next time".

McGregor and Poirier have continued to take shots at each other on social media since their lightweight bout at UFC 264.

That was the American's second win of the year against his rival, who had inflicted Poirier's first TKO defeat in UFC back in 2014.

Bieber's prediction for a fourth fight between the pair will no doubt have down well with McGregor – but it appeared not everybody at the VMAs got on so famously with the Dubliner.

McGregor insisted that nothing happened between him and Machine Gun Kelly after security had to separate the pair on the red carpet at the New York event.

According to American outlet TMZ, the scuffle occurred when McGregor asked the musical artist for a picture, but MGK, real name Colson Baker, refused.

However, McGregor's camp insisted the fighter didn't approach the rapper – and the man himself said he only knew who he was because he was with movie star Megan Fox, who stunned onlookers in a see-through dress at the VMAs.

"Absolutely nothing happened. I don’t know. He showed up, and I don’t know. I don’t know the guy," McGregor told Entertainment Tonight.

"Nothing happened with me, I only fight real fighters, people that actually fight, you know what I mean.

"I certainly don’t fight little vanilla boy rappers. I don’t even know the guy. I don’t know anything about him, except that he’s with Megan Fox."
