TJ Dillashaw and Aljamain Sterling have been going back and forth for months ever since the former returned to action following a two-year suspension. Dillashaw admitted to taking a banned substance after adverse findings in his bout with Henry Cejudo and came back in 2021 with a victory over Cory Sandhagen.

Dillashaw was expected to be given a few fights before earning his way to a title shot, but was given a chance to face Aljamain Sterling in the co-main event of UFC 280 this Saturday. Sterling and Dillashaw both called each other out after their most recent wins, with the former defeating fellow UFC 280 fighter Petr Yan.

The two came face-to-face for the first time on Thursday in preparation for their bout this weekend and continued their war of words, with Sterling continuing to brandish Dillashaw as a ‘cheater’.

Sterling would question Dillashaw ahead of the fight, asking whether or not he continues to used banned substances.

In response, Dillashaw said: “He’s so worried about it he can come test me himself. He can test these n**s in his mouth.

“This DJ Jazzy Jeff mother****er is going to be down there saying ‘test, test, 1, 2.”

Sterling comes into the fight as the favourite against Dillashaw who has only lost four times in his career. Sterling comes into the fight with more victories, however, with an impressive 21-3 record whilst being undefeated in almost five years.

The fight will be the co-main event on the night, before Charles Oliveira will look to recapture the lightweight title against Islam Makhachev.

The card will also include a fascinating matchup between Yan and Sean O’Malley.
