UFC star Jessica Andrade blames boob ‘slipping out’ of bra for her shock defeat

Jessica Andrade has bizarrely blamed her shock defeat to Erin Blanchfield on a wardrobe malfunction which saw her boob slip out of her top during the fight.

The pair met in the main event at UFC Vegas 69 on Saturday night with Blanchfield earning a surprise victory after forcing Andrade, who previously quit OnlyFans, to tap out to a rear naked choke submission less than two minutes into the second round.

Former strawweight champion Andrade was on a three-fight win streak coming into the clash and stepped in on short notice in place of Blanchfield's original opponent Talia Santos. The Brazilian was hoping another victory would put her in line for a title shot, but Blanchfield has instead boosted her own title chances.

Andrade had caught her opponent with slightly more strikes in the flyweight bout at the UFC Apex, but Blanchfield made the first takedown of the evening count to secure a statement win.

But speaking after the fight, Andrade suggested the outcome was affected by a problem with her top which caused her to lose concentration at the crucial moment. “This is not an excuse, but when she came for the takedown, I lost focus," Andrade insisted.

"Because when she moved in, she put her shoulder just under my top and my breast completely slipped out. I lost focus and forgot to counter."

“All I could think of was my breast," Andrade continued. "When I used my hand to put my breast back in the top, that’s when she was able to take me down. It’s all part of the game, though. It’s not an excuse.

"She really had a great gameplan. It wasn’t on purpose. We have to be ready for everything. I should’ve been prepared to let my breast be out if it slipped out. It has been shown in so many places before. I shouldn’t even be worried about that.”

Blanchfield could now be in line to face flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko in her next outing.

“I always try to think of what I want to say after a win because it can be very emotional and it can be a little cloudy but I knew beating someone like her [Andrade], especially if I finished her, that I could deserve that title next,” Blanchfield said in her post-fight press conference.

She added: “I would definitely prefer Shevchenko I think she beats [Alexa] Grasso. I think Grasso is a very tough fighter, but I want to be the one to take that title from [Shevchenko].”
