UFC’s Miesha Tate slams ‘desperate’ OnlyFans – despite other stars turning to it

UFC star Miesha Tate has slammed OnlyFans as “desperate” despite some of her fellow female fighters starting up on the adult site.

The former UFC bantamweight champion is currently ranked no.8 in the rankings, with her last fight ending in defeat by unanimous decision to Ketlen Vieira back in November.

With Tate entering her twilight years in the sport aged 35, there has been some speculation as to what she will do next in her career.

And when asked by a fan on YouTube channel Combat Culture whether she would consider joining OnlyFans, the MMA legend was quick to distance herself with the site.

Tate responded with: “Nowhere in this video did I say I was desperate.”

Her savage put-down comes as a dig to the swathes of female fighters currently using OnlyFans or other similar sites to further their support, brand and income.

As of January 2021, there were at least 26 female fighters using the sites in a vast array of ways.

Among those is former UFC and current Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship star Paige VanZant, 27, although she uses a different site with the same format.

Submission specialist Tate has amassed a huge social media following over the course of her 15-year professional career.

She has 2.1million Instagram followers and is increasingly active on her YouTube channel, suggesting she would also have a huge market on the controversial site.

However, Tate is currently enjoyed her UFC comeback and, despite her recent loss to Vieira, enjoyed a win in her first fight since 2016 in a dominant performance over Marion Reneau.

She has hinted at a potential move to the 125lbs division in the future but is currently focused on pursuing a run at the bantamweight title.
