Tottenham reportedly barred Harry Kane from the club’s training ground hours before he completed a £100million transfer to Bayern Munich earlier this month. The England captain ended his 19-year-long association with the north London side this summer as he moved to the Bundesliga champions, but not before some late drama in the deal saw him turned away by Spurs.

The Telegraph have claimed that Kane was sent an email by the club ahead of the proposed move, formally stating that it would not be appropriate for him to return to the club’s training ground complex as Spurs chief Daniel Levy was in the final stages of negotiating their record sale.

The decision ensured that Kane was unable to say his goodbyes to team-mates in person and was not given the opportunity to collect his personal possessions himself, as he awaited the green light to fly to Germany to sign for Bayern.

Those possessions were instead sent on to the 30-year-old and his family, who were also not permitted to enter their suite in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – casting a dark cloud over what had appeared to be an amicable parting of ways.
