Nat Phillips has joked that Andy Robertson was “a little bit jealous” of him after he sealed a loan move to Celtic. The proud Scotsman\u00a0is a diehard Hoops fan and has previously spoken about his “dream” to play for the club if he can’t close out his career with Liverpool.<\/p>\n
Phillips, who has two years remaining on his contract at Anfield, joins the reigning Scottish Premier League champions until the end of the season and revealed that Robertson is over the moon about him securing a move to Glasgow.<\/p>\n
“Andy was probably just as excited as I am,” said Phillips. “And I think, potentially, he was a little bit jealous because he loves it here. And it was the same with Virgil van Dijk. He had a great time here, so I’ve heard nothing but good things.”<\/p>\n
“I’m really excited. When I heard about the interest it was one that got me excited,” added Phillips. “There were a few other options that didn’t quite make me feel the same as this one did.<\/p>\n

“So I was really keen to get it over the line and I’m delighted to be here now. We’ve had a few conversations since I’ve been here and they’ve gone really well.<\/p>\n
“They’ve just reassured the decision around this whole thing, and I’m really excited to get working with the manager. It’s the history of the club. It’s such a huge club, the club’s aspirations, the level it competes at.<\/p>\n

I’m now really excited to see how they look.”<\/p>\n Phillips has been at Liverpool since 2016 after being released by his boyhood club Bolton Wanderers in the same year. He has racked up 29 first-team appearances during his time with the club but has mostly spent the last few years out on loan at Stuttgart and Bournemouth.\u00a0<\/p>\n The 26-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirement at Anfield and isn’t expected to stay at the club beyond his current deal, which runs out in 2025.<\/p>\n
