Twenty-two men chase a ball for 60 minutes and at the end, the Chiefs always win.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Under Andy Reid, Kansas have topped the AFC West for the past seven seasons, reaching the last five AFC Championship games.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Including the post-season, two-time MVP and two-time Super Bowl MVP Mahomes has played 94 games, winning 75 and losing 19.<\/p>\n<h2>WIN-NOW\u2026 OR WHAT?<\/h2>\n<p>Buffalo will need their vaunted regular season defence to finally stand up in the playoffs if they are to justify their hype as Super Bowl contenders.<\/p>\n<p>Joe Burrow starts another year injured in Cincinnati \u2014 it hasn\u2019t been a problem, mind \u2014 and this will be the last year the Bengals can call on all of Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins and Ja\u2019Marr Chase.<\/p>\n<p>And after the LA Chargers made Justin Herbert the NFL\u2019s highest-paid player, there can be no more injury excuses \u2014 nor playoff blunders \u2014 for head coach Brandon Staley.<\/p>\n<p>Then there\u2019s the question that\u2019s tough to avoid: can Aaron Rodgers emulate Joe Namath and steer the New York Jets to a first Super Bowl win since 1969? No. How about the playoffs for the first time since 2010? But last year they were blessed with 70 sacks, injury luck and a weak schedule. That won\u2019t happen again.<\/p>\n<p>All eyes on Brock Purdy in San Francisco but will the 49ers \u2014 for whom quarterback injuries are a feature under Kyle Shanahan \u2014 regret trading Trey Lance?<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Dallas have the NFL\u2019s best defence and offensive weapons galore, but also have Mike McCarthy as head coach. Elsewhere, don\u2019t sleep on Miami, Pittsburgh and Seattle.<\/p>\n<h2>BUCKING BRONCOS<\/h2>\n<p>No-nonsense coach Sean Payton has been parachuted in to fix Russell Wilson.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But Denver haven\u2019t reached the playoffs in seven seasons and traded away talent galore to acquire the high-maintenance quarterback, handing him a five-year $245million deal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fine if Wilson \u2014 a Super Bowl winner in Seattle \u2014 is in his prime. Over to the Browns, Jets, Texans, Broncos, Bears, Commanders, Cardinals, Bears and \u2014 here\u2019s looking at you \u2014 Falcons.<\/p>\n<p>In Jacksonville, last year\u2019s worst-to-first team, Trevor Lawrence looked every inch a No 1 overall pick under Super Bowl-winning head coach Doug Pederson.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With Calvin Ridley added to a strong receiving room, a favourable schedule and weak division, the eternal underachievers look all set for a deep playoff run.<\/p>\n<h2>CARDINALS SIN<\/h2>\n<p>Arizona are tanking.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With spoiled brat quarterback Kyler Murray out for the first four games, new head coach Jonathan Gannon \u2014 the former Eagles defensive coordinator is blamed by many Philly fans for February\u2019s Super Bowl loss \u2014 takes charge of the NFL\u2019s worst roster.
