Madison Keys’ quarter-final matchup with Marketa Vondrousova on Arthur Ashe Stadium was delayed Wednesday night as a fan was treated for an undisclosed medical issue.<\/p>\n
The game was delayed for just over eight minutes as a male patron received assistance before he was carried out after initially collapsing.<\/p>\n
Keys and\u00a0Vondrousova had already begun the game by this point, with the American serving in the opening game.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The No. 17 seed holds a one-set advantage over the No. 9 Czechian at the time of writing.\u00a0<\/p>\n
During the break in play, Keys generously took water and towels to a security guard so they could be passed on to those aiding the male patron.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Earlier Wednesday, on another steamy hot day with temperatures in the mid-90s Fahrenheit (32 Celsius) world No. 3 Daniil Medvedev gave a grim warning to tournament organizers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘One player is gonna die. And they’re gonna see,’ Medvedev said before powering on for a 6-4 6-3 6-4 win.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘Honestly, at the end of the first set I kind of couldn’t see the ball anymore,’ he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘I kind of played with sensations. Just tried to go for it, tried to run, tried to catch the balls and he did the same.<\/p>\n
