The young Belgian midfielder was not called up by his country following a summer bidding war that the Blues won over Liverpool, having paid \u00a358million to Southampton for their teenage starlet.<\/p>\n<p>Lavia will have to wait to make his Chelsea debut, as the Daily Mail have claimed that Lavia is facing a month and a half out after an initial scan revealed potential ligament damage.<\/p>\n<p>Lavia went over on his ankle during Thursday&#8217;s session at Cobham, having attempted to prove his fitness to Mauricio Pochettino during the two-week break, but he was forced to cut his training efforts short to visit the physio instead.<\/p>\n<p>The club are yet to confirm the full extent of Lavia&#8217;s injury but the 19-year-old is not expected to make his Blues debut until October as a result of the disappointing diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p> <strong> MUST READ <\/strong> <strong>Chelsea have signed three players that may never play a minute under Pochettino[COMMENT] <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/67\/590x\/secondary\/Chelsea-Romeo-Lavia-Mauricio-Pochettino-4953454.jpg?r=1694427123636\"><\/p>\n<p>Lavia had been in attendance at Stamford Bridge for the victory over Luton and 1-0 defeat by Nottingham Forest before the break, but Pochettino felt that his fitness was not up to the required level after a transfer saga that saw Liverpool make several bids to land the former Southampton midfielder before he chose to move to Chelsea.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Lavia no [not ready to start],&#8221; Pochettino said before Chelsea&#8217;s win over Luton. &#8220;He needs a few weeks to be ready to be involved with the team. He is working to try and catch his team-mates.
