{"id":287296,"date":"2023-09-12T00:34:33","date_gmt":"2023-09-12T00:34:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/?p=287296"},"modified":"2023-09-12T00:34:33","modified_gmt":"2023-09-12T00:34:33","slug":"rio-ferdinand-praises-marc-guehis-display-for-england-against-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/soccer\/rio-ferdinand-praises-marc-guehis-display-for-england-against-ukraine\/","title":{"rendered":"Rio Ferdinand praises Marc Guehi&apos;s display for England against Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Rio Ferdinand praises Marc Guehi after Crystal Palace defender and Arsenal target impressed for England against Ukraine<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Rio Ferdinand praised Mar Guehi&#8217;s display in England&#8217;s draw with Ukraine<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Ferdinand commented that Guehi frequently manages to step up comfortably\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Listen to the latest episode of Mail Sport&#8217;s podcast It&#8217;s All Kicking Off!\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Rio Ferdinand has praised Marc Guehi, saying that the Crystal Palace defender steps up &#8216;at every level&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Guehi, who has attracted interest from Arsenal, started in England&#8217;s 1-1 draw with Ukraine last weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The centre-back gave a good account of himself and drew praise from Ferdinand.<\/p>\n<p>With John Stones out injured, Guehi was selected to start alongside Harry Maguire at the heart of the defence.<\/p>\n<p>There has been much debate regarding Maguire&#8217;s continued inclusion in the England side despite the fact that he isn&#8217;t a regular starter for Manchester United.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/12\/00\/75313827-0-image-m-64_1694475053136.jpg\" height=\"548\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Rio Ferdinand praised Marc Guehi for his performance in England&#8217;s draw against Ukraine<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/12\/00\/75313427-0-image-a-81_1694476307846.jpg\" height=\"579\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Ferdinand commented that Crystal Palace defender Guehi frequently steps up to the next level<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>Ferdinand says selecting Maguire could have an adverse impact on the morale of England&#8217;s centre-backs.<\/p>\n<p>However, the former Manchester United defender reserved praise for Guehi.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE YouTube channel, Ferdinand said:\u00a0&#8216;My biggest concern would be the confidence and morale of the other players in that position. So he&#8217;s basically saying I&#8217;ve got no other centre halves who I can trust at all.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;John Stones, who&#8217;s the best England centre-half around at the moment is injured. &#8216;I&#8217;ve got to find a replacement&#8217;. Marc Guehi comes in. He just seemed to be able to step up at every level he gets asked to step up to.
