{"id":287345,"date":"2023-09-12T12:04:28","date_gmt":"2023-09-12T12:04:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/?p=287345"},"modified":"2023-09-12T12:04:28","modified_gmt":"2023-09-12T12:04:28","slug":"david-moyes-speaks-out-on-jesse-lingards-status-at-west-ham","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/soccer\/david-moyes-speaks-out-on-jesse-lingards-status-at-west-ham\/","title":{"rendered":"David Moyes speaks out on Jesse Lingard&#039;s status at West Ham"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/GettyImages-1246454084.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>David Moyes wants to give Jesse Lingard \u2018a real opportunity\u2019 as the free agent continues to train with West Ham in an attempt to earn a contract with the club.<\/p>\n<p>The 30-year-old left Nottngham Forest at the end of last season after an entirely forgettable year with the club, making just 17 Premier League appearances and scoring no goals.<\/p>\n<p>The England international was linked with moves to the Saudi Pro League and Major League Soccer but it now looks most likely that he will continue his career in the English top flight.<\/p>\n<p>The former Manchester United man has been training with the Hammers having enjoyed a superb loan spell with the club in 2021, when he shone on a short-term move from the Red Devils.<\/p>\n<p>Moyes was his manager then and he intends to give Lingard as much opportunity as possible to get his fitness up to scratch and potentially rediscover that form.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Jesse\u2019s trained with us for three weeks and he\u2019s improved greatly from where he fist came in,\u2019 Moyes told talkSPORT. \u2018He\u2019s in much better condition, really good condition.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Jesse joined us a couple of years ago and he scored 10 goals in 15 games, I think [Lingard scord nine in 16 during his 2021 loan spell].
