Liverpool have submitted their 23-man squad for the Europa League campaign and they’ve made a number of interesting selections.<\/p>\n
The Reds will compete in the European competition for the first time since Jurgen Klopp’s debut season, after their disappointing 5th place finish last term.\u00a0<\/p>\n
And, ahead of their return to the Europa League, the Reds have named their squad that will be eligible for the early stages of the competition.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Despite UEFA rules permitting teams to submit squad’s of up to 25 players, the Reds have named just 23 as they deal with injuries.<\/p>\n
And, on top of that, Klopp has opted for talent over experience within his squad, after omitting one senior player who has been at the club since 2019.<\/p>\n

Jurgen Klopp has opted to name a 23-man squad, despite rules allowing for 25-man squads<\/p>\n
It was third-choice goalkeeper Adrian who was the unlucky star that missed out on a place within the Reds’ Europa League squad for the 2023-24 campaign.<\/p>\n
Despite Klopp having an extra two places available, the Spaniard will watch their European campaign from the sidelines this season.<\/p>\n
Youngsters Bobby Clark and Ben Doak have both been included in the squad having impressed Klopp over recent months.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Clark, 18, made multiple appearances throughout pre-season for the Reds, while Doak has been a feature in the first-team since the back end of last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The rest of Liverpool’s ‘List A’ was comprised of the typical first-team players that have featured for the Reds in Europe previously.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A minimum of eight of spots in the squad must be allocated to \u2018locally trained\u2019 players and a maximum of four can be \u2018association trained\u2019.<\/p>\n
A number of players will be included on Liverpool’s ‘List B’, which allows free an unlimited number of players born after January 1st 2002 to be registered.<\/p>\n
That’ll include the likes of\u00a0Harvey Elliott, Stefan Bajcetic, Jarell Quansah, Conor Bradley and Marcelo Pitaluga.\u00a0<\/p>\n
