{"id":287465,"date":"2023-09-13T13:33:56","date_gmt":"2023-09-13T13:33:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/?p=287465"},"modified":"2023-09-13T13:33:56","modified_gmt":"2023-09-13T13:33:56","slug":"gareth-bale-praises-postecoglou-for-great-start-and-style-at-spurs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/soccer\/gareth-bale-praises-postecoglou-for-great-start-and-style-at-spurs\/","title":{"rendered":"Gareth Bale praises Postecoglou for &apos;great start&apos; and &apos;style&apos; at Spurs"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Gareth Bale shares a joke with Rory McIlroy as the ex-football star plays alongside the Northern Irishman at the Celebrity Pro-Am&#8230; with former Chelsea captain John Terry and Spider Man actor Tom Holland also in action at Wentworth<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Gareth Bale was pictured playing alongside Rory McIlroy at a celebrity event<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>He was also seen with ex-team-mate Jermaine Jenas, and Tom Holland was there<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Bale praised Ange Postecoglou for the attractive style he has brought to Spurs<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gareth Bale had a jolly time with\u00a0Rory McIlroy in the\u00a0Celebrity Pro-Am before the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.<\/p>\n<p>The former Spurs favourite was pictured playing alongside McIlroy in the competition and has only furthered his love for golf since retiring from professional football in January.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>His old team-mate Jermaine Jenas\u00a0was also present at the venue in Surrey, which welcomed a range of celebrities from across different disciplines.<\/p>\n<p>Anton Du Beke, Dan Walker, and actor\u00a0Tom Holland\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0who has played Spider-Man &#8211; were all present.<\/p>\n<p>Bale told Sky Sports: &#8216;Obviously, I was trying to impress him [McIlroy].\u00a0The first tee is always nerve-wracking, I&#8217;m not used to hitting golf balls [in front of him] &#8211; I just hit the ball and looked forward.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/13\/13\/75380801-12513153-image-a-85_1694606821887.jpg\" height=\"425\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Gareth Bale played alongside Rory McIlroy at the Celebrity Pro-Am event at Wentworth\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/13\/12\/75379499-12513153-image-a-65_1694604907812.jpg\" height=\"420\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Ex-Spurs team-mate Jermaine Jenas (far right) also featured, playing off a handicap of 3<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/13\/12\/75379639-12513153-image-a-70_1694605106146.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Bale&#8217;s camaraderie with McIlroy was clear to see as the two exchanged jokes and a fist bump<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/13\/12\/75379593-12513153-image-a-69_1694605054152.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Tom Holland, who has played Spider-Man on film, also tried his luck at the star-studded event<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I just said to JJ [Jenas]: &#8220;get the ball in the air and just look for it. Hopefully it lands on the fairway.&#8221;&#8216;<\/p>\n<p>While Jenas played off a handicap of 3, Bale played off a handicap of 0.5 alongside one of golf&#8217;s greats.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile,\u00a0Bale\u00a0praised Ange Postecoglou for the &#8216;great start&#8217;
