Jude Bellingham delivered a world-class man-of-the-match performance during England’s 3-1 win against Scotland on Hampden on Tuesday.

The midfielder has been in flying form for Real Madrid following his £115million move from Borussia Dortmund earlier this summer.

He is perhaps one of the most exciting and impressive players to have pulled on an England shirt, with the Galactico having now scored in all of his opening four starts for Real Madrid to amass five goals.

He followed that up with another strike against Scotland on Tuesday, getting England’s second before half-time prior to showing off his superb technical ability to feed Harry Kane for his late strike.

Here, Mail Sport’s Craig Hope walks you through the anatomy of superstar Bellingham and what footballing attributes the England midfielder has that make him such a special talent.

Bellingham is a fast learner and Gareth Southgate believes he has made some smart choices with his friendship group in the England squad. Away from football, he has a tight-knit support network and is clearly taking their advice on board.

Listen to Bellingham and you do not hear a typical 20-year-old. As his former Dortmund boss Edin Terzic told Mail Sport last season: ‘Jude is the oldest 19-year-old player in the world.’ His thoughts and words are original and engaging.

There is a definite desire to be the best. Call it passion, aura, ego — there is a unique energy about Bellingham that comes from within. He is not afraid to dig out more senior team-mates, but the motivation is his will to win.

What Bellingham does with his feet is almost second nature now. We have come to expect deftness of touch and power of shot. He can manipulate a ball to his will and his use of it is efficient and effective. There is no showboating or excess. He has scored five goals in his first four matches for Real Madrid, but we also see him put the boot in to break up attacks.

He was lauded by his manager Gareth Southgate (right) after the match, with Bellingham now scoring in five of the last six games he’s played in both for England and Real Madrid

It was his second goal for the Three Lions, with Bellingham (pictured) having also scored five goals in four games for his new side Real Madrid this season

It is all very well having the technical craft, but the best modern players must graft, too, and Bellingham certainly does that. The No 10 role to which he now appears best suited was once the preserve of the luxury player. Bellingham, though, will run the game AND run all day.

Aside from technical ability — his first England goal was a header — it is speed of thought that elevates Jude’s game.

His first touch has been calculated, and as good as executed, long before the ball enters his domain. Whatever cheques his brain is writing, his body is able to cash them in.
