{"id":287555,"date":"2023-09-14T01:34:49","date_gmt":"2023-09-14T01:34:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/?p=287555"},"modified":"2023-09-14T01:34:49","modified_gmt":"2023-09-14T01:34:49","slug":"emma-raducanu-unveils-the-new-hobby-she-picked-up-during-trip-to-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/tennis\/emma-raducanu-unveils-the-new-hobby-she-picked-up-during-trip-to-china\/","title":{"rendered":"Emma Raducanu unveils the new hobby she picked up during trip to China"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Emma Raducanu unveils the new hobby she picked up during trip to China, as tennis superstar works on comeback to the court after undergoing surgery earlier this year<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Emma Raducanu has unveiled a new hobby that she picked up during China trip<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The tennis superstar is currently working to recover from undergoing surgery<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The 2021 US Open champion has taken up the famous tile-based game Mahjong \u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Emma Raducanu has unveiled her new-found love of Mahjong having recently picked up the\u00a0tile-based game during a trip to China.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 20-year-old tennis star is currently recovering from undergoing surgery on both her wrists and ankle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Currently situated at 194 in the WTA rankings, Raducanu has not played since April, where she was knocked out in the first round by Jelena Ostapenko at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 2021 US Open women&#8217;s singles champion underwent surgery in May, posting photos of herself sporting casts on both her arms and ankle on social media.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Since then she has been taking steps to recover and was last month seen for the first time since her operation back playing tennis during a training session.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/14\/01\/75408743-0-image-a-24_1694650236339.jpg\" height=\"418\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Emma Raducanu (pictured) has unveiled a new found hobby she has picked up while travelling to China<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/14\/01\/75410045-12516175-image-a-24_1694650885401.jpg\" height=\"714\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Raducanu has started playing the tile-based game Mahjong with her family<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/14\/01\/75408721-0-image-a-25_1694650268911.jpg\" height=\"438\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The 2021 US Open Champion is currently recovering from undergoing wrist and ankle surgery<\/p>\n<p>While working on her comeback, the British tennis player has also been travelling and recently visited her mother&#8217;s home country, China, to see her family.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She visited\u00a0Shenyang, where she opened up on how she had been playing her new-found hobby, Mahjong, with her grandmother.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I recently learned Mahjong and feel most at home and my true self when I&#8217;m around the kitchen table at my grandma or aunt&#8217;s place in Shenyang playing with family,&#8217; Raducanu told Porsche.<\/p>\n<p>While tennis stars spend plenty of time on the court, the 20-year-old also unveiled some of the other things she gets up to when she&#8217;s not competing or training.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When asked what her hobbies were, she said: &#8216;They include Mahjong, piano, reading, learning new cultures and languages, motorsport, driving and diving.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;On a day off, I like to practice some piano\u2026 I just started to learn and have a long way to go but I really love the melodies once you get it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Also having picked up Mahjong and now enjoy playing with whoever I can find.
