Tottenham midfielder James Maddison has been named the Premier League player of the month for August.<\/p>\n
England international Maddison has made a major impact for Tottenham since his summer arrival from Leicester.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has been named Premier League manager of the month after starting superbly following his appointment.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Maddison provided two assists on his Tottenham debut in a 2-2 draw against Brentford. He then featured in a 2-0 victory over Manchester United before scoring in a 2-0 success against Bournemouth.<\/p>\n
His good form then continued into September with a goal in a 5-2 win against Burnley.<\/p>\n
Maddison is the first Tottenham player to win the award since Harry Kane in March 2022.<\/p>\n

In winning the award, Maddison fended off competition from Taiwo Awoniyi (Nottingham Forest), Jarod Bowen (West Ham), Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford), Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton) and Rodri (Manchester City).<\/p>\n
Maddison will be eager to impress again when Tottenham host Sheffield United on\u00a0 Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Ahead of his move to Tottenham Maddison already possessed plenty of Premier League experience having played in the division for five seasons while at Leicester.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Postecoglou has been named Premier League manager of the month after guiding his side to ten points out of a possible 12 so far.<\/p>\n
Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool) and David Moyes (West Ham) were also up for the award.<\/p>\n
Former Celtic boss Postecoglou has won the award following his first month in English football.\u00a0<\/p>\n
