Quite a few spring to mind but the most sensible and honest answer is the Boys of ’86 shirt. We had such a great season with that shirt, nearly winning the league. I was in Prague in June when West Ham won the Conference League and it was amazing how many fans were wearing that iconic top. It resonates with, shall we say, the more mature fan.

It was a very simple but different top, away from what we usually wore at West Ham. A standout memory from that season is beating Chelsea 4-0, but we wore the white away kit.

In the home shirt, beating Newcastle 8-1 in April (even though I got the hump because I didn’t score) was another.

We battered Newcastle that night and it was one of West Ham’s biggest ever league victories.

The last home game against Ipswich sticks out, too. We beat them 2-1 and the fans came on at the end singing, ‘We’re gonna win the league’. That was a great moment for the supporters.

West Ham’s 1985-86 shirt was picked by Tony Cottee (R) as his favourite ever shirt in football

Cottee was part of the West Ham team that nearly won the first division title that season
