No.1 keeper Aaron Ramsdale by opting for summer signing David Raya to take his spot during their Everton clash<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/17\/19\/75532749-12528941-image-a-8_1694974011058.jpg\" height=\"398\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Ramsdale started over Jordan Pickford as England&#8217;s number 1 during the international break\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/17\/19\/75529193-0-David_Raya_right_will_make_his_first_Arsenal_start_with_the_form-a-1_1694973726728.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>David Raya made his first Arsenal start, replacing Aaron Ramsdale for the clash with Everton<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/17\/19\/75529627-0-Kai_Havertz_was_replaced_by_Fabio_Vieira_in_the_only_other_chang-a-2_1694973759312.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Kai Havertz was replaced by Fabio Vieira in the only other change from the club&#8217;s 3-1 win over Man United before the international break<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile fellow new arrival Kai Havertz has also been replaced in the starting XI after notching an assist on international duty as Germany defeated France in a friendly, with\u00a0Fabio Vieira\u00a0taking his place for the clash against the Toffees.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mikel Arteta\u00a0also once again decided to stick with Eddie Nketiah up front, with last season&#8217;s marquee arrival Gabriel Jesus\u00a0named on the bench.<\/p>\n<p>The changes come following a week where the Gunners&#8217; boss explained that he was forced to involve himself in training due to the club having a number of players available, with the 41-year-old taking training matches this week as cover.<\/p>\n<p>Arteta&#8217;s decision to sign a new goalkeeper raised eyebrows this summer, particularly with Raya being unlikely to be deployed as a traditional backup given his sizeable reputation after earning plaudits during successive Premier League campaigns with the Bees.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking ahead of the game, Arteta refused to confirm whether the change was indicative of his who his preferred goalkeeper would be going forward.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I think I mentioned that we wanted to be the squad with two quality players in this position with different characteristics and and we&#8217;ve got that now.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;To maximise that we have to play games and we&#8217;ve got a lot of games coming up now and it&#8217;s the same as other players where we have rotated and they will get a lot of game time in the next few games.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/17\/19\/75532755-12528941-image-m-10_1694974079407.jpg\" height=\"375\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Spanish national impressed Arsenal fans in his composed performance against Everton<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/17\/19\/75532645-0-image-m-6_1694973852898.jpg\" height=\"366\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The two keepers will have to compete for a starting position in Arteta&#8217;s squad this season<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/17\/19\/75532753-12528941-image-a-7_1694973979844.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Ramsdale took an unusual spot on the bench to watch his fellow teammates at Goodison Park<\/p>\n<p>Ramsdale has established himself as the Gunners&#8217; No 1 since his arrival from Sheffield United in 2021 and is widely viewed as first-choice back-up to England&#8217;s starting goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The former Brentford\u00a0goalkeeper joined the Gunners&#8217;
