A semi-professional goalkeeper has been likened to prime Manuel Neuer after pulling off an absolute stonker of a save in an FA Cup qualifying match over the weekend.

Worthing were 1-0 up in a tasty all-Sussex affair against fellow National League South outfit Eastbourne Borough, and were holding on for dear life in the dying embers. 21-year-old keeper Roco Rees had just pulled off a solid save low to his left, but the ball bounced up onto the waiting forehead of Eastbourne striker Zak Emmerson, who was six yards out with a gaping goal to aim at.

But out of nowhere Rees sprang off the ground like a demented cat to keep Emmerson's header out with an outstretched palm, before making an instantaneous follow-up save by punching the ball clear to stop his opponent bundling the it home from close range.

Fans on social media were in awe of Rees' incredible acrobatics, with one even labelling his stop the "save of the decade." Another said: "That is legitimately one of the best saves I've ever seen in my life."

A third added: "That was prime Manuel Neuer. Insane reflexes," while a fourth wrote: "Who is this guy? Even if the rest of his game is terrible he's surely too good to be playing Non-League." Another added: "Save of the season. End the competition now. That man has won it hands down."
