An emotional Paul Mullin has opened up about his son\u2019s diagnosis with autism and the support he has received from Ryan Reynolds. The Wrexham talisman was speaking during an episode of \u201cWelcome to Wrexham\u201d docuseries.<\/p>\n
Speaking on camera as part of the FX show, Mullin was visibly on the verge of tears as he spoke about his beloved boy. Back in January, the 28-year-old forward revealed that his aon Albi had been diagnosed with autism.<\/p>\n
The Red Dragons\u2019 promotion hero went into detail about the challenges he and his wife Mollie have faced during the past year. Reflecting on the period, Mullin admitted that his career now \u201ccomes second\u201d to his commitments at home.<\/p>\n
While the couple were able to get a diagnosis for their son, the striker admitted that he still feels \u201cguilty\u201d when he goes to bed at night. That said, the devoted dad explained that his boy is \u201ca happy lad\u201d who \u201cenjoys every single day\u201d, adding that he \u201cmakes me smile\u201d.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s a joy.<\/p>\n \u201cI wouldn\u2019t change him for the world.Sometimes he’ll just turn around and say ‘Dada’ and that’s something I love to hear, it makes me cry every time to be honest with you.\u201d<\/p>\n Afterwards, the prolific marksman offered his advice to parents in a similar position. Later in the episode, he recounts showing the Hollywood superstar a clip of Albi counting to ten, which prompted a caring response.<\/p>\n Moved by what he had saw, the world famous actor said: “That’s so good though. Oh my God. Then it just goes crazy like with every kid”.<\/p>\n The second episode in the series also involves autistic Wrexham fan Millie Tipping, who details how the club’s “quiet zone” has changed her life. Essentially, the room enables supporters with sensory needs to attend and experience a game with adaptations such as noise cancelling headphones.<\/p>\n
