Manchester United reportedly held a meeting with their women’s team on Friday before ruling that Antony would be allowed to rejoin Erik ten Hag’s first team. The winger is under investigation by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and authorities in Brazil following allegations of domestic abuse and physical aggression made by his ex-girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin.

Antony was given a leave of absence earlier this month in light of the allegations made against him. The Brazilian delayed his return to England as a result, remaining in Brazil. However, the 23-year-old travelled back to Manchester via Spain from Sao Paulo on Tuesday night.

He has since met with the GMP to help them with their investigation into the allegations made against him, and he was similarly cooperative with police inquiries in Brazil. Antony has not been arrested or charged in either country and strongly denies the allegations made against him.

Now back in England, United ruled that they would allow the ex-Ajax star to return to the squad and announced that he was set to take part in training with his teammates soon. However, prior to the club statement being released, club officials ensured that the women’s team were well-informed about the situation.
