Jordan Spieth hit out at a cameraman on Day 2 of the Ryder Cup as Team USA’s woes continued.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Spieth, 30, let his frustrations boil over at Marco Simone during the morning foursomes session alongside his long-time pal Justin Thomas as they looked to claw the Americans back into the contest after a dismal Day One.\u00a0<\/p>\n
After the first winless day in Ryder Cup history, Team USA trailed 6.5- 1.5 and Spieth and Thomas were tasked in reclaiming some ground in the first match against Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood.\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, McIlroy and Fleetwood, dubbed Fleetwood Mac, made a fast start, going three up after three and leaving a shell-shocked Spieth and Thomas with work to do.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Spieth in particular struggled to find his game once again and directed his frustration at a cameraman.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The American hit out at a group of photographers after leaving a chip shot short at the fifth\u00a0<\/p>\n
Left with a tricky chip shot from the brutally thick rough at Marco Simone at the fifth, the three-time major winner attempted to punch his attempt from close range on to the green but he left his shot short, finding the fringe.\u00a0<\/p>\n
As soon as the ball left the club face, Spieth, clearly unimpressed with the effort, turned to a group of photographers nearby and stared them down.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n ‘I mean guys, come on,’ he said before his caddie,\u00a0Michael Greller, also expressed his annoyance, adding, ‘Guys, watch the cameras.’<\/p>\n The incident compounded the Americans’ misery with\u00a0Sky Sports on-course commentator Wayne Riley describing Spieth as ‘rattled.’<\/p>\n Spieth and Thomas couldn’t muster a comeback with McIlroy and Fleetwood, who had also stormed to a win in the Day One foursomes, winning 2&1.\u00a0<\/p>\n The match was one of three losses for the US in the morning session with Max Homa and Open Champion Brian Harman clinching the Americans’ first win of the Ryder Cup.\u00a0<\/p>\n Following his team’s thrashing, captain Zach Johnson claimed that they had been hit by an illness spreading through the locker room.\u00a0<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Spieth struggled as he and Justin Thomas lost 2&1 to Tommy Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy<\/p>\n ‘We have got some congestion and some just signs of things that are unfortunate,’ he said Friday. ‘It has spread through my team. We’re just fighting things internally. It’s kind of passed around a little bit – caddies, players.’\u00a0<\/p>\n However, the US captain was quick to reiterate Saturday that the mysterious ‘congestion’ was not an excuse.\u00a0<\/p>\n ‘It is just part of it [illness], this is sport, it is not an excuse,’ he told Sky Sports. ‘As I said over and over Luke [Donald] and his team did awesome and that is the story.’\u00a0<\/p>\n The Americans were left facing a massacre after the Day Two’s morning session with a 9 1\/2 -2 1\/2 deficit heading into the fourballs.\u00a0<\/p>\n
