{"id":289550,"date":"2023-09-30T12:37:25","date_gmt":"2023-09-30T12:37:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/?p=289550"},"modified":"2023-09-30T12:37:25","modified_gmt":"2023-09-30T12:37:25","slug":"jordan-spieth-hits-out-at-ryder-cup-photographer-during-defeat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/golf\/jordan-spieth-hits-out-at-ryder-cup-photographer-during-defeat\/","title":{"rendered":"Jordan Spieth hits out at Ryder Cup photographer during defeat"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Ryder Cup: Jordan Spieth hits out at photographer during defeat<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas lost to Tommy Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><strong>CLICK HERE to follow Mail Sport&#8217;s live coverage of Ryder Cup day two<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>DailyMail.com provides all the latest international sports news<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Jordan Spieth hit out at a cameraman on Day 2 of the Ryder Cup as Team USA&#8217;s woes continued.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Spieth, 30, let his frustrations boil over at Marco Simone during the morning foursomes session alongside his long-time pal Justin Thomas as they looked to claw the Americans back into the contest after a dismal Day One.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After the first winless day in Ryder Cup history, Team USA trailed 6.5- 1.5 and Spieth and Thomas were tasked in reclaiming some ground in the first match against Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, McIlroy and Fleetwood, dubbed Fleetwood Mac, made a fast start, going three up after three and leaving a shell-shocked Spieth and Thomas with work to do.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Spieth in particular struggled to find his game once again and directed his frustration at a cameraman.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/30\/12\/76011119-0-image-a-1_1696074452246.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Jordan Spieth&#8217;s frustrations boiled over during the Ryder Cup Day Two foursomes Saturday\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/30\/12\/76011185-0-image-a-3_1696074627910.jpg\" height=\"354\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The American hit out at a group of photographers after leaving a chip shot short at the fifth\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Left with a tricky chip shot from the brutally thick rough at Marco Simone at the fifth, the three-time major winner attempted to punch his attempt from close range on to the green but he left his shot short, finding the fringe.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span>As soon as the ball left the club face, Spieth, clearly unimpressed with the effort, turned to a group of photographers nearby and stared them down.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I mean guys, come on,&#8217; he said before his caddie,\u00a0Michael Greller, also expressed his annoyance, adding, &#8216;Guys, watch the cameras.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The incident compounded the Americans&#8217; misery with\u00a0Sky Sports on-course commentator Wayne Riley describing Spieth as &#8216;rattled.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Spieth and Thomas couldn&#8217;t muster a comeback with McIlroy and Fleetwood, who had also stormed to a win in the Day One foursomes, winning 2&amp;1.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The match was one of three losses for the US in the morning session with Max Homa and Open Champion Brian Harman clinching the Americans&#8217; first win of the Ryder Cup.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Following his team&#8217;s thrashing, captain Zach Johnson claimed that they had been hit by an illness spreading through the locker room.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/30\/12\/76011115-0-image-a-2_1696074460161.jpg\" height=\"408\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Spieth struggled as he and Justin Thomas lost 2&amp;1 to Tommy Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We have got some congestion and some just signs of things that are unfortunate,&#8217; he said Friday. &#8216;It has spread through my team. We&#8217;re just fighting things internally.
