{"id":289820,"date":"2023-10-03T08:24:35","date_gmt":"2023-10-03T08:24:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/?p=289820"},"modified":"2023-10-03T08:24:35","modified_gmt":"2023-10-03T08:24:35","slug":"idiotic-young-boy-joey-barton-launches-scathing-attack-on-his-own-player","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/soccer\/idiotic-young-boy-joey-barton-launches-scathing-attack-on-his-own-player\/","title":{"rendered":"&#039;Idiotic young boy&#039; &#8211; Joey Barton launches scathing attack on his own player"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/GettyImages-1346410831.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Bristol Rovers boss Joey Barton has publicly slammed one of his own players, labelling Luke Thomas an \u2018idiotic young boy\u2019 in an astonishing angry rant.<\/p>\n<p>Barton, notorious for this thuggish behaviour as both a player and manager, was left furious at Thomas and labelled him a \u2018weak, feeble-minded individual\u2019 for his error in a 2-0 League One defeat to Peterborough United.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas, 24, who joined Bristol Rovers permanently this summer and has earned three caps for England U20s, was deemed responsible for Peterborough\u2019s second goal on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018To compound it one idiotic young boy \u2013 I can\u2019t even call him a man \u2013 has compromised the team with his behavioural standards and we find ourselves 2-0 down with a mountain to climb,\u2019 Barton said about Thomas after the match.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I can\u2019t fault the other 10 players or the lads that came off the bench because they kept plugging away and kept pushing.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Unless we man up \u2013 and I know you have to be careful saying that in the modern era \u2013 and absolutely eradicate these weak, feeble-minded individuals that are currently inside our unit, we won\u2019t get promoted out of this division.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Luke reported his hamstring was tight one minute before we were going out. He got told to test it and said \u2018no, I\u2019m fine\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/themes\/metro-parent\/img\/fallback.png\"><\/p>\n<p>\u2018The ball is down his side and he said his hamstring has gone so we were about to make a substitution.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018But, in his infinite wisdom, he goes to press the ball and completely exposes Jack Hunt.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We should do better after that, but we find ourselves 2-0 down \u2013 all because someone hasn\u2019t got the mindset required to make the correct call to keep the team strong.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fitvids-video\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Peterborough United v Bristol Rovers highlights\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3YkEkM4Aw-g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
