Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards joined Dan Burn in recreating his iconic TikTok dance after the Newcastle defender scored in the stunning win over Paris Saint-Germain.

Boyhood Magpies fan Burn scored the second goal of the evening against the Parisians in Wednesday night’s 4-1 Champions League thrashing. He netted a power header which was awarded after a lengthy VAR check just before half-time.

It came after Miguel Almiron’s emphatic opener, while Sean Longstaff and Fabian Schar scored second-half goals to seal a famous victory at St. James’ Park. And Burn celebrated a night he would never forget by performing his incredible dance, which went viral earlier this year.

The 6ft7in veteran and Longstaff were interviewed by CBS favourites Richards, Carragher, Kate Abdo and Peter Schmeichel after the final whistle. But Richards and Carragher were after something a little more special as they asked Burn to pull out his funky moves.

He reluctantly did just that – while an out of sync Carragher and Richards tried to keep up in abysmal fashion. "We are going to smash the internet," Carragher could be heard saying. "TikTok, here we come!” before telling Burn: "You knew that was coming!"

Burn’s dance first went viral in January 2023 after being urged to perform it by manager Eddie Howe in the dressing room, having scored a winner against Leicester. The 31-year-old’s TikTok moves caught the attention of football fans, with his free-flowing gangly figure making for a stunning spectacle

A delighted Burn said after the PSG win: "Crazy. It has not sunk in, I am a bit speechless. We wanted to entertain the crowd and get the crowd behind us, but we did well.

"We knew PSG were not going to change the way they play. The times to play high up the pitch and we had the crowd pushing us, we had that for the last goal with the crowd pushing us on for Fabs [Fabian Schar] goal.

"It is like a dream and I am waiting for someone to wake me up, I am waiting for the bubble to pop. We have a great group and what the gaffer [Eddie Howe] has done with the philosophy we have got."
