Chelsea are aiming to record back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time under Mauricio Pochettino but the Argentine has plenty of questions surrounding his lineup for the trip to Burnley. Vincent Kompany’s side are still without a win at home since returning to the top flight and the Blues will hope that run can continue, but whether the likes of Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson return to the team after illness and suspension respectively, remains to be seen. Here, Express Sport has taken a look at the potential lineup Pochettino could name to face Burnley.

Only league leaders Manchester City have conceded fewer goals than Chelsea this season, as Robert Sanchez has provided a strong base since his arrival from Brighton in the summer. He has proven adept with his feet and made a number of impressive saves, barring injury it is unlikely that he would come out of the team – especially after a clean sheet away to Fulham last time out.

JUST IN Chelsea boss Pochettino has his own Foden after Palmer deal he never asked for[COMMENT]

Malo Gusto remains suspended after his red card against Aston Villa and with captain Reece James back fit but also serving a one-match ban after admitting using “improper, insulting and abusive words and behaviour” towards a match official, Marc Cucurella will likely continue to deputise on the right.

Axel Disasi, Thiago Silva and Levi Colwill have all been ever-presents this season and are set to continue in their roles, with the latter continuing to impress at left-back after his assist against Fulham.

We use your sign-up to provide content in ways you’ve consented to and to improve our understanding of you. More info

Don’t miss…

Pochettino found a strong balance in midfield through the trident of Conor Gallagher, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez but there had been concerns that the Ecuadorian could miss the trip to Turf Moor after he was forced off late in Chelsea’s last game following a collision with Willian.

Pochettino confirmed that he and Mykhaylo Mudryk would be in contention to play after their respective injuries. “Yes, both in the squad, we will decide later whether they have a chance for the start,” Pochettino said when asked about Caicedo and Mudryk. “It was close last week to join us. This week they have trained well, I still have not decided, I need to check with Jesus (Perez, assistant coach) and the medical staff.”

Cole Palmer and Armando Broja were handed starts and impressed alongside Mudryk against Fulham, as the Albanian marked his first league start in nearly a year with a goal. However, Pochettino may opt to protect the young striker after a long rehabilitation from injury by restoring Jackson to the team after his suspension.

Pochettino did not comment on whether Sterling had recovered from his illness enough to start against Burnley, but Palmer could be handed the chance to carry on from his strong outing against Fulham on the opposite flank to Mudryk if the Ukrainian is considered ready to start again.

In total, Sterling, Palmer, Broja and Jackson will all feel that they deserve to start against Burnley and whichever players are left out can feel harshly done by – but that is the strength in depth Pochettino now has with his stars returning to full fitness.

Watch one of the biggest crossover fights of the year on DAZN as KSI and Logan Paul face off against the opponants in Manchester on October 14th.

It costs £20.99 and you also get to enjoy DAZN for the rest of the month for just £1 thanks to a special deal.

The Pay-per-view costs £20.99 and you’ll be able to enjoy all the action on the night.

Goalkeeper: Robert Sanchez
