{"id":291460,"date":"2023-10-21T01:24:02","date_gmt":"2023-10-21T01:24:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/?p=291460"},"modified":"2023-10-21T01:24:02","modified_gmt":"2023-10-21T01:24:02","slug":"newcastle-star-miguel-almiron-banned-from-driving-for-six-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/soccer\/newcastle-star-miguel-almiron-banned-from-driving-for-six-months\/","title":{"rendered":"Newcastle star Miguel Almiron banned from driving for six months"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Newcastle star Miguel Almiron banned from driving for six months and fined \u00a3660 after failing to identify the driver of his car for a second time<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Police requested the information following a tip off by a member of public<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Miguel Almiron did not respond and has now been banned from driving<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The 29-year-old has been on international duty with Paraguay this week\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Newcastle United star Miguel Almiron has been banned from driving for<span>\u00a0failing to identify the driver of his car \u2014 for a second time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Police requested the information after he was seen allegedly using his mobile while driving near Newcastle\u2019s training camp in December last year by a member of the public who tipped off police.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Almiron did not respond and has now been banned from driving for six months after magistrates said they were &#8216;satisfied beyond reasonable doubt&#8217; that he was the driver, reports the Sun.<\/p>\n<p>The Paraguayan, 29, was given the punishment under the totting up process after he failed to also provide driver details on an earlier occasion.<\/p>\n<p>He will be unable to get behind the wheel for six months after being convicted of an offence in his absence at Gateshead Magistrates&#8217; Court on Thursday,\u00a0according to Chronicle Live.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/20\/23\/76823749-0-image-m-41_1697842732463.jpg\" height=\"461\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Newcastle United star Miguel Almiron has been banned from driving for six months<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>Almiron has been on international duty with Paraguay and played in their 1-0 win over Bolivia on Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Almiron was accused of failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver\/rider of a vehicle when required on April 24 this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The charge relates to the identification of the driver of a Land Rover, who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.<\/p>\n<p>The Paraguayan was also accused of using a handheld mobile phone\/device while driving a motor vehicle on Benton Lane in Longbenton on December 14, 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The charge was dismissed by the court on Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Almiron, of High Callerton, Newcastle, did not attend the court hearing and the failing to give information charge was proved in his absence.
