Colombian police have confirmed a cash reward worth around \u00a39million will be offered to anyone willing to come forward with information on Luis Diaz’s father. Devastating news broke overnight on Saturday that both of Diaz’s parents had been kidnapped in their native country.<\/p>\n
His mother has been rescued, but the Liverpool star’s father remains missing. Reports in Colombia claim the 26-year-old’s parents were kidnapped as they drove to their home in the city of Barrancas.<\/p>\n
Colombia’s police director, General William Salamanca, has now confirmed that a cash prize of \u00a39m ($200m pesos) will be offered to anyone who has information pertaining to the kidnapping.<\/p>\n
Luis Manuel Diaz Jimenez and his wife Cilenis Marulanda were said to have been at a petrol station when they were approached by four armed men.<\/p>\n

According to W Radio, General Salamanca spoke with the Liverpool star to confirm that his mother had been found by authorities. Diaz was subsequently left out of Liverpool’s matchday squad for their match against Nottingham Forest.<\/p>\n
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admitted the whole team was affected by news of Diaz’s parent being kidnapped. \u201cWe had to obviously make a late change because of the private situation involving Luis Diaz,\u201d Klopp told BBC Sport.<\/p>\n
