Mbappe saw an 89th minute penalty saved, but was in the right place to dispatch the rebound and put PSG ahead with his 250th career club goal.<\/p>\n<p>Mbappe, 24, was booked for a gesture to the crowd during his goal celebration, and was immediately substituted off in favour of Nordi Mukiele.<\/p>\n<p>Mbappe taunted the Brest supporters, geeing them up in reaction to their own anger, and making hand gestures signalling the 3-2 scoreline in favour of PSG.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>French sports journalist\u00a0Bertrand Latour wrote on X: &#8216;A captain of the French team should not do that.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/29\/17\/77147831-12685841-image-a-3_1698600769487.jpg\" height=\"367\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Kylian Mbappe riled up Stade Brest fans after scoring PSG&#8217;s winning goal on Sunday afternoon<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/29\/17\/77147809-12685841-image-a-4_1698600990921.jpg\" height=\"154\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>A French sports journalist said he felt that the national captain should not act in this manner<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/29\/17\/77147807-12685841-image-a-2_1698600732510.jpg\" height=\"290\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The 24-year-old replied to defend himself, claiming Brest fans were throwing insults as well<\/p>\n<p>Mbappe hit back,\u00a0replying: &#8216;Well of course and I should have even sang with them when they insulted my team-mate.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Some have really never set foot on a football field regardless of the level\u2026.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>It was not immediately clear who was involved in the insult, or which team-mate was targeted by the offence.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Warren Zaire-Emery got the visitors off to a strong start with his right-footed strike into the corner after 16 minutes making it 1-0, 12 minutes before Mbappe doubled PSG&#8217;s advantage.<\/p>\n<p>But Steve Mounie got a goal back for Brest two minutes before half-time with a downward header, and Jeremy Le Douaron got the equaliser in the 52nd minute.<\/p>\n<p>There was to be late drama when Brest defender Lilian Brassier brought down substitute Randal Kolo Muani in the penalty area in the 85th minute, which was eventually awarded after a VAR check.<\/p>\n<p>This led to a number of players on both sides being issued with bookings, as the incident threatened to overshadow a game with no yellow cards prior to the foul.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/29\/17\/77148457-12685841-image-a-16_1698602229952.jpg\" height=\"357\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Mbappe made hand gestures in the direction of the home fans while being substituted\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/29\/17\/77148471-12685841-image-a-17_1698602255389.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Brest suffered only their third league defeat of the season due to Mbappe&#8217;s late goal<\/p>\n<p>Mbappe&#8217;s penalty was saved by Brest goalkepeer Marco Bizot, but the rebound fell to the French national team captain to convert on the rebound.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During his celebrations, Mbappe was cautioned for gesturing to the crowd, before being substituted off to a chorus of jeers.<\/p>\n<p>Sixth-placed Brest, who suffered only their third league defeat of the campaign, will look to bounce back for next weekend&#8217;s trip to Monaco.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>PSG&#8217;s late win keeps them second in the Ligue 1 table, a point behind league leaders Nice.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Luis Enrique&#8217;s side host Montpellier on Friday night, ahead of a Champions League trip to AC Milan the following Tuesday.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sport\/football\/article-12685841\/Kylian-Mbappe-riles-Stade-Brest-fans-substituted-scoring-PSGs-late-winner-hotly-contested-Ligue-1-clash-French-captain-defending-social-media-afterwards.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read Full Article<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kylian Mbappe riles up Stade Brest fans while being substituted after scoring PSG&#8217;s late winner in hotly contested Ligue 1<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":292428,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[19],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.8 -
