as Championship side accelerate search for Gary Rowett&#8217;s successor<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Millwall are continuing to search for Gary Rowett&#8217;s replacement as manager<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Joe Edwards has built an excellent reputation as one of England&#8217;s finest coaches<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Listen to the latest episode of Mail Sport&#8217;s podcast &#8216;It&#8217;s All Kicking Off!&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>England Under-20 head coach Joe Edwards has emerged as shock candidate for the vacant Millwall manager&#8217;s job.<\/p>\n<p>The Championship side are advancing with their recruitment of a new head coach following the departure of Gary Rowett last month.<\/p>\n<p>Former Southampton and Luton boss Nathan Jones is emerging as a leading contender for the position at The Den as the experienced coach seeks a return to management following his sacking at St Mary&#8217;s earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>Edwards, however, is understood to be among the names Millwall are keen to speak to as they decide on their next permanent head coach.<\/p>\n<p>Edwards is currently manager of England&#8217;s U20 team and has built an excellent reputation as one of the best young coaches in the country.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/01\/10\/77263331-12697017-image-a-1_1698834462650.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>England U20 head coach Joe Edwards has a reputation as one of the country&#8217;s finest coaches<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/01\/10\/77263259-12697017-image-a-11_1698834522971.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Millwall have Edwards under consideration as they seek to find a successor to Gary Rowett\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>He spent a vastly successful academy coaching career at Chelsea before being promoted into the senior set-up by Frank Lampard in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Eventually Edwards played a key role under Thomas Tuchel as Chelsea lifted the Champions League in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Edwards reunited with Lampard at Everton in 2021 before following the former England international back to Stamford Bridge earlier this year for an interim spell back at club following the sacking of Graham Potter.<\/p>\n<p>Jones&#8217;
