It’s another night of Carabao Cup action with another six teams looking to make it through to the quarter-finals. After Middlesbrough and Port Vale yesterday secured their spots in tonight’s draw, there’s a whole host of Premier League sides in action this evening.

West Ham beat Arsenal 3-1 in the first of four enticing all-top-tier ties. The other three see Everton face Burnley, Liverpool travel to Bournemouth and in arguably the most exciting contest of the lot – holders Manchester United take on Newcastle at Old Trafford.

The Magpies are gunning for revenge in Manchester after they lost 2-0 at Wembley in the final against United back in February. That was Newcastle’s first major final since 1999 and they will be intent on a return to the national stadium this season.

Elsewhere, Chelsea face Championship playoff hopefuls Blackburn at home while high-flying Ipswich test themselves against Fulham. The draw will take place after United face Newcastle, which kicks off at 8.15pm and will conclude at roughly 10pm.

Cody Gakpo opened the scoring at the Vitality Stadium before Justin Kluivert equalised, with Darwin Nunez coming up with the winner with 20 minutes remaining.

Liverpool will be ball number 3 and are joined in the draw by Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are ball number 4 after goals from Benoit Badiashile and Raheem Sterling sealed a 2-0 win over Blackburn.

Middlesbrough and Port Vale in quarters

Middlesbrough and Port Vale were the first two teams through to the quarter-final.

Boro beat Exeter 3-2 in a dramatic match at St James’ Park on Tuesday and will be ball number 1.

League One Vale overcame League Two Mansfield 1-0 and will be ball number 2 in the draw.

Hammers burst Arsenal bubble

Arsenal were the first team to taste defeat tonight as they suffered a 3-1 loss at West Ham.

A Ben White own goal and a strike apiece from Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen has sent the Gunners packing.

Martin Odegaard added a late consolation on a miserable night for Mikel Arteta.

The Hammers will be ball number 8 in the draw.
